Before You Book a Delivery
The most common delivery problem is not the drive, it is the doorway. Measure the item, then measure your front door, hallway, stairs and the door of the room it is going into. Sofas are the usual trouble, especially in older terraced houses, so check whether the legs or back cushions come off.
For private sales, confirm the seller will be home, that the item is ready to go and whether it is on a ground floor or upstairs. Ask for a photo of where it is in their house. For shop collections, have your receipt or order number ready and check the store's collection hours, as some warehouse counters close earlier than the shop floor.
Checking Second Hand Items
When buying second hand, have a look for loose joints, wobbly legs and drawers that stick before we load it. It is much easier to walk away at the seller's door than once it is in your living room.
Furniture Delivery Dublin: How We Protect It
Every item is wrapped in thick moving blankets before it goes in the van. Glass tops and mirrors are padded separately and stood upright, never laid flat under other items. Upholstered pieces are covered to keep them clean and dry, which matters on a typical Dublin day when the weather can turn in minutes. Everything is strapped to the side of the van so it cannot slide or tip on the road.
We are fully insured, and when we arrive we carry the item inside and place it in the room you want, not just on the doorstep.
Collecting Multiple Pieces
If you are furnishing a new home, we can collect from more than one place on the same run. A bed from one shop, a sofa from a private seller and a table from a relative can all be planned into one trip.
If any piece needs assembling at the other end, such as a bed frame or a dining table with separate legs, let us know in advance. Where the piece came apart for collection, we will put it back together for you and keep the fixings safe in between.
