Anyone who has tried to fit a PAX wardrobe into a small car knows why IKEA delivery Dublin services are so popular. At Moving Service Dublin we collect your order from the IKEA store in Ballymun, or from a click and collect point, and bring it to your home in one go.
It is one of the many jobs listed on our services page, and if you need bigger furniture moved at the same time, our furniture removals page is worth a look.
How IKEA Collections Work
There are two common ways to do it. You can shop in store, pay at the tills and meet us at the collection area with your trolleys, or you can order online and choose a click and collect slot, then share your order number with us. Either way, the flat packs are loaded straight into our van.
The IKEA store sits right beside the M50 at Ballymun, which makes it quick to reach most of Dublin. A collection there and a drop off in Lucan, Clontarf or Dún Laoghaire is a straightforward run, though it is worth avoiding weekend afternoons when the car park and nearby roads are at their busiest.
Tips Before You Buy
- Check the packaging sizes. The product page lists the number of packages and their dimensions. Large wardrobe panels can be well over two metres long.
- Check your stairs. Long flat packs are hard to turn on tight landings, so measure first.
- Count your packages. Wardrobes and kitchens can come in a dozen or more boxes. Make sure everything is on the trolley before loading.
- Keep your receipt. You will need it if anything is missing or damaged.
Self Serve Warehouse Items
For bigger orders, you may need to pick heavy items from the self serve warehouse yourself. Note the aisle and location numbers from the product tags as you go round the showroom so you can find them quickly.
IKEA Delivery Dublin, Carried Inside
Flat packs are heavy and awkward, and the corners damage easily. We stack the boxes flat in the van, strapped down so they cannot slide, and protect the edges with blankets. At your home, we carry every package inside to the room where it will be built, so you are not left with a pile of boxes in the hallway or on the doorstep.
We are fully insured throughout, and we take care with walls and banisters, especially when carrying long panels up stairs in older houses or apartments.
Old Furniture Swap
If you are replacing an old wardrobe or bed and want it moved to another home, such as a relative's house or a friend's flat, we can often take it on the same trip. Let us know when you book so we can plan the route and space in the van.
