Dublin 1 packs a lot into a small area: the IFSC and Docklands apartment blocks, Georgian streets around Mountjoy Square and Gardiner Street, Smithfield on the Luas red line and the busy shopping streets off O'Connell Street. Our movers Dublin 1 service knows how to work around all of it. Moving Service Dublin handles apartment moves, flat moves and small removals right across the north inner city.
Most moves in the area are apartments, so our man with a van city centre service is a natural fit. See our services and the areas we cover for more.
Moving in Dublin 1: what to expect
Docklands and IFSC apartments
The blocks around Custom House Quay, Mayor Street and North Wall usually have a concierge, a management company and strict moving rules. Lift bookings, set hours and basement car parks with height limits are common. We plan around your lift slot and use loading areas where they are provided.
Georgian buildings and walk ups
Older buildings around Mountjoy Square, North Great George's Street, Gardiner Street and Parnell Square are often converted into flats with no lift and steep, narrow stairs. We measure up for larger pieces in advance and plan the carry.
Smithfield and Stoneybatter edges
Smithfield's apartment blocks and the cobbled plaza have their own access rules, and the Luas line limits where a van can stop. We check the best loading point before the day.

Phibsborough and the North Circular Road
The northern edge of Dublin 1 runs into red brick terraces and older flats around the North Circular Road and Dorset Street. These are often walk ups with steep stairs and on street permit parking, so we plan the van position carefully and allow for the carry.
Parking and access in the north inner city
Dublin 1 is one of the hardest parts of the city for van parking. Bus lanes, Luas tracks on Abbey Street and around the quays, clearways and pay and display all limit where we can load. Loading bays help, but they fill quickly. We plan where to stop before we arrive, and our driver stays with the van wherever practical to avoid delays.
Timing matters too. Early mornings and Sundays are often quieter, while weekday afternoons around Henry Street and Talbot Street are busy with shoppers and deliveries. Match days at Croke Park affect streets on the north east edge of Dublin 1, so check the fixture list before you book.
