Maynooth is only a short drive from Dublin, but getting a term's worth of belongings there on the train is no fun. Our student moves Maynooth University service collects from your family home or old flat and delivers to campus residences or private housing in Maynooth town. Moving Service Dublin also brings everything back again at the end of the year.
It is part of our student moving service, with fixed prices and a van sized for student loads. Take a look at our services for the full range.
The route to Maynooth
From most of Dublin we take the M50 to the N4 and on to Maynooth, which usually takes somewhere around forty minutes to an hour depending on where you start and the traffic. Students from Lucan, Leixlip and Celbridge are even closer. The N4 can be slow at peak times, so we often suggest mid morning slots for move in days.
Coming from further away? If your family home is in Galway, Mayo or Sligo, the N4 and M4 make Maynooth a direct run, and we can collect from home and deliver straight to your room as a single long distance trip. Just give us both addresses when you ask for a quote.
Where Maynooth students live
- On campus residences on the North Campus have busy move in weekends with lots of families arriving together. Check your allocated arrival time.
- Private student accommodation near the town centre and along the Moyglare Road and Straffan Road often has reception check in and set loading areas.
- House shares and digs in Maynooth estates such as Rail Park, Greenfield and the estates off the Dunboyne Road are common. These usually have driveway or on street parking, which makes loading easier.
Kitchens in shared houses are often already stocked, so check with housemates before packing pots, pans and a toaster. It saves space in the van and avoids doubling up.
Some students live in digs with a host family. If that is you, let us know so we can be considerate of the household and arrange a time that suits them.

What we move for Maynooth students
Most loads are suitcases, boxes of books, bedding, a desk chair, small kitchen items and maybe a bike or a mini fridge. Postgraduate students and those moving into a house share sometimes bring a desk, a bed or a sofa. We wrap furniture, strap everything in place and carry it right into your room.
At the end of term, we can bring your things back to Dublin or anywhere else in Ireland. Students from the west and midlands often share a van with a friend heading the same direction, which keeps things easy for everyone.
Tips for your move
