Student moves Trinity College Dublin come with a unique challenge: almost everything is in the city centre. Residences on campus, in Pearse Street, at Kavanagh Court and in the Dartry Halls area, along with flats around Portobello, Ringsend and Rathmines, all have their own access quirks. At Moving Service Dublin we plan around them, with one van, a driver who does the lifting and a fixed price before you book.

Moving in the city centre
Around Trinity, parking is the biggest issue. Pearse Street, Nassau Street and Westland Row are busy, loading bays are often taken and the bus lanes are strictly enforced. We plan pickups at quieter times, use loading bays where they are free and keep the van close to your door so you are not carrying boxes down the street.
The campus itself has controlled vehicle access, so for on campus rooms we work with your arrival time and any instructions from the accommodation office.
Student moves Trinity College Dublin: Halls and flats
Many first years live in Trinity Hall in Dartry, which is easier for parking but can be busy at the start of term. Later on, students move into flats in Rathmines, Ranelagh, Portobello, Stoneybatter and the Docklands. Some are in modern blocks with lifts, others are top floor flats in old Georgian houses with steep stairs.
- We carry boxes, small furniture and bikes up and down narrow stairs
- Bigger items like desks or bookcases are taken apart if needed
- Everything is wrapped so walls and banisters stay unmarked

Tips for moving as a Trinity student
- Book early for the start and end of term, as the city centre gets busy
- Check your residence or landlord's rules on move out times and inspections
- Pack in small boxes that fit through narrow Georgian stairwells
- Take dated photos of your room before you leave to protect your deposit
- Split the van with a housemate if you are both moving on the same day
- Keep your student card and keys in your pocket, not in a box
If you are heading home at the end of the year, we can bring your things from the city centre to anywhere in Ireland, or drop them at a family member's house in Dublin for the summer.
Moving between Trinity Hall and a city flat in second year is one of the most common jobs we get. It is a short drive through Ranelagh or Rathmines, and with a bit of packing done in advance the whole move can often be done in under two hours.
International students
If you have just arrived in Dublin with a few suitcases and bought furniture locally, we can collect items from shops or sellers around the city and deliver them to your new room. It is a simple job and we price it fairly.
